Platform Rentals is a family business serving the North East of England specialising in rental of self-propelled access platforms to industry. Our work activities extend to Yorkshire, Cumbria and Central Scotland.
Established in 2011, Platform Rentals is headed up by Ross Thompson (Managing Director). Having served a recognised industry apprenticeship, Ross has over 22 years of experience as an engineer. Ross is also Managing Director of a sister company RMT Access Ltd which he established in 2005. We have a wealth of knowledge of most types of access platforms from leading manufacturers across the world. We are able to carry out servicing/repairs and L O L E R thorough examinations for our own and customers’ equipment.

All machines undergo a rigorous 57 point pre delivery check before leaving our depot

We aim to ensure as far as possible to get to you within 4 hours in the event of any machine breakdown.

With our flexible hire terms, we guarantee to allow you to adjust your hire as and when you need to.

We have an awareness of chapter eight managing traffic past our work area.

Pre-delivery inspections of our machines are carried out prior to delivery on site.
HEALTH & SAFETY
We are a Health and Safety conscious Company. The Work at height regulations 2005 are inclusive in all we do where a potential risk of fall/injury exists.
We comply with the following regulations:

Work at height regulations 2005 (all work at height must be planned)

Provision and use of work equipment Regulations 1992 (work equipment must be inspected before use)

Lifting operations and lifting Equipment regulations 1992/15 (MEWPs must be thoroughly examined every six months by a competent person and evidence displayed on the machine)

Management of Health and Safety in the workplace identifiable hazards (Risk assessments)

PPE regulations 1992 (Harness sets must be examined at least annually) and recorded.

Our attitude toward the Environment is positive working with our customers and sub-contractors to encourage all waste matters are disposed of lawfully Ensuring as far as possible no fluids are contaminating our watercourses

Scope of Operations
We offer work at height solutions through supply of mobile elevating work platforms to enable safe completion of tasks compliant with BS8460. Services provided : hire of self-propelled and truck mounted mobile elevating work platforms to industry.

These include -Local Authorities, Arboriculture, Construction, Retail, Logistics/Transport/Warehousing and Manufacturing Industries.
